About Me - Prof. Dr. Hamayoon Khan

I'm an academic leader, seasoned researcher, and dedicated teacher with over two decades of experience in the field of Agronomy and Climate Sciences. Currently serving as Dean, Faculty of Crop Production Sciences at The University of Agriculture, Peshawar, I also lead as Director of the Climate Change Center. I have previously served as Director Teaching, where I introduced key academic reforms.

My academic journey is deeply rooted in environmental conservation and climate resilience. I have a PhD and post-doctoral training in climatology and life sciences, which formed the basis of my contributions to the development of KP’s Climate Change Policy and Risk Management Policy. My tenure as Director saw the successful launch of the MS in Climate Change program and the execution of multimillion-rupee research projects on climate-smart agriculture and regional climate forecasting.

With a portfolio of over 79 publications, including articles in impact factor W-category journals and books on climate change scenarios and forecasting its impacts, I have also led six research projects. In addition, I have supervised a growing number of graduate students (6 PhDs and 57 MPhil), nurturing a new generation of scientists in agronomy and climate research. I remain committed to fostering academic excellence, promoting sustainability, and advancing climate-smart practices in agriculture.
