Introduction:
The last few decades have marked the emergence of Management Sciences as a worldwide contemporary discipline. Of late, it has attained significant maturity and with the advent of computer and information technology, Management Sciences has emerged as an independent discipline in both developed and developing countries. This calls for increased attention to the discipline, especially in terms of resources allocation and formalization. In response to the said scenario, with a foremost view to cater the growing needs of youth, most universities in Pakistan broadened their horizon of education by initiating degree programs in Management Sciences, Computer Sciences and Information Technology. Aligned with the same vision, this University, by virtue of its geographic location and sufficient infrastructural resources, established the Institute of Business & Management Sciences (IBMS) in 1998. The foremost aim was to provide quality education in the fields of Management Sciences, Computer Science and Information Technology.
From its very inception, the policies of Higher Education Commission (HEC) are closely monitored and ensured. Academically, the Institute has exhibited a multi-faceted dynamic growth pattern that shows its soundness and future prospects. Due to provision of congenial learning atmosphere to students and availability of highly qualified teaching staff, the institute has achieved continuous growth in term of student's enrolment. Currently, the institute is offering several degree programs in BBA (Hons), BS (Agribusiness Management), MBA, MS Management Sciences, MS Agribusiness Management and PhD Management Sciences.
IBMS represents a blend of qualified and committed human resource along with a strong infrastructure and innovative learning techniques. A dedicated faculty with enthusiasm, commitment and citizenship is available with good grace to foster learning aimed at individual, institutional and regional development. Teaching takes place with the integration of traditional methods with modern innovative techniques, with a particular focus on the use of technology. The objective is to capacitate students for successfully competing in local and international markets and also contribute to community engagement and development. The institute also provides a conducive environment for academic research and scholarly activities and emphasizes on creating knowledge workers. By and large, IBMS portrays a promising learning organization.
